2018 Tahoe Fall Classic is on Sunday, September 15
Paddle Racers and weekend paddlers alike will love the Tahoe Fall Classic! There’s something here for everyone; SUP, Prone Paddleboards, and OC1 racers. The last event in the Tahoe Cup Series is the longest inland distance paddleboard race in the world! It’s a wonderful last hurrah of the season for those who love their paddle craft.
For experienced paddlers and elite racers, there is an 8 am, 22-mile cross-lake race from El Dorado Beach in South Lake Tahoe to Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort, in North Lake Tahoe. Prone paddlers compete for cash prizes for the first three places.
The 3-mile short course race is appropriate for any skill level and youngsters under 11 years old have their very own Kids Paddleboard Race, where they can stretch their paddling skills and compete with other kids. Both of these events start and finish at Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort.
All participants must provide their own equipment and PFD. Underage race participants must have a waiver signed by their legal guardian/parent and if participating in the 22-mile race, they must provide their own safety boat.
Registration is available online. The cost to participate ranges from $5-$145 based on the race.
