‘Fireman Dave’ Joins with Manon Celaya
Known as ‘Fireman Dave’, award-winning Dave Zaski gave back to the North Tahoe area as a member of the North Tahoe Fire Protection District. After a long and fulfilling career – in 1999 May 26th was decreed a “day in honor of Dave Zaski” – he retired from Fire Protection services to focus on the next stage of his life.
He’s been involved in the Tahoe community for 36 years. An avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, Dave is a member of the Truckee – Tahoe Buckeye Club that meets every Saturday in the fall to watch the Buckeyes games live on TV. Dave has also worked hard to support firefighters outside the Tahoe area. He’s been a long-time supporter and fundraiser for the Pescadero Volunteer Fire Department in Baja, Mexico. The all volunteer group lack proper safety gear and essential emergency equipment. Money is being raised through the sale of T-shirts and their GoFundMe page.
In addition to retiring as a fire fighter, Dave has had other good changes in his life. He recently married Manon Celaya, and has joined forces with her in Manon’s real estate business. When asked his role in the business, Dave replied with a grin, “I drive Miss Daisy.” Dave will soon be busy helping Manon manage fires of a different sort.
Coldwell Banker Tahoe-Truckee welcomes Dave, and wish both Manon and Dave much happiness in their marriage and business!
