Firecracker, Firecracker… Boom, Tahoe, Boom!
July 4 is promising to be a fantastic holiday in North Lake Tahoe! Apart from the ongoing list of activities, the ‘firecracker’ fun is going on all day beginning with the Firecracker Mile and ending with multiple fireworks shows.
North Lake Tahoe July 4th Runs
The Firecracker Mile race is happening on the 4th starting at 9:40am. The run is along the same path as the parade, down Donner Pass from US Bank to the Train Station, and you’ll get to be cheered by thousands of parade spectators! There are two ways to register: print out the form online, deliver to Tahoe Mountain Sports with your check, or do it all online with a credit card.
Teens and tots 18 and under need a waiver form completed for registration. There are two runs: the first is the Elite Run for serious runners, and the second and third wave are the Fun Run meant for families and all ages. Those with strollers are asked to participate in the third wave. Arrive by 9:15am and remember the roads are closed off by 8:30, so allow plenty of time to arrive. Entry costs range from $10 to $20 per person.
The Firecracker Mile is a fund-raiser for the Auburn Ski Club, supporting their Youth and Junior programs.
